PRACTICE TIMES

Practice Schedule-Starting May 22nd-UPDATED AS OF 6/23

We practice Monday-Thursday evening between 4:00pm-7:30pm while school is still in session.  Afternoon Practice (Monday-Thursday)

4:00-4:30 Mini Sharks **EVALUATION MUSTE BE COMPLETED

4:30-5:15 8 and under **EVALUATION MUST BE COMPLETED

5:15-6:00 9-10 years old

6:00-6:45 11-12 years old

6:45-7:30 13 and over

EVALUATIONS WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY, MAY 20th and TUESDAY, MAY 21st FROM 5:00PM-6:00PM FOR ALL RETURNING AND NEW SWIMMERS 8 and UNDER.

As of June 17th we added a morning practice option (Monday-Wednesday and Friday).  

8:30am-9:30am - 11 and over --Coaches will run two separate practices: 11-12 year olds and 13 & over

9:30am-10:30am - 10 and under, including Mini-Sharks --Coaches will run three different practices: minis, 8 & under and 9-10 

Afternoon Practice (Monday-Thursday)

4:00-4:30 Mini Sharks **EVALUATION MUSTE BE COMPLETED

4:30-5:15 8 and under **EVALUATION MUST BE COMPLETED

5:15-6:00 9-10 years old

6:00-6:45 11-12 years old

6:45-7:30 13 and over

**IT IS NOT MANDATORY TO ATTEND BOTH MORNING AND NIGHT PRACTICE.  IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND BOTH...THAT IS GREAT!!!

**RIBBON CEREMONY, SWIMMER RECOGNITION AND FUN TIME WILL BE HELD THE DAY AFTER A MEET FROM 9:30am-11:00am.

GRAL AGE GROUPS

The Greater Richmond Aquatic League defines the age groups for all meets (listed below). Your child will be placed in the correct group by age. Please refer to the practice schedule for practice times by age group.

  • 8 & under(includes any Mini Shark swimmers ready to swim in a meet)
  • 9 & 10
  • age 11 & 12 (Juniors)
  • age 13 & 14 (Intermediates)
  • age 15 – 18 (Seniors)

The Greater Richmond Aquatic League (GRAL)

The Greater Richmond Aquatic League (GRAL) is an organization of swimmers, coaches, and parents whose aim is to promote and participate in the sport of summer swimming GRAL provides an opportunity for young people to compete against others of similar ability in an atmosphere of fair play, good sportsmanship, and safety.
